Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced QE Lead – Mobile to lead Quality Engineering initiatives for mobile applications within the Coles program. This role will be responsible for defining and driving the mobile testing strategy, ensuring high-quality releases across iOS and Android platforms, and leading a team of QA Engineers in an Agile delivery environment.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Engineering Leadership
• Define and implement the mobile testing strategy aligned with project goals and business objectives.
• Lead end-to-end quality assurance activities for mobile applications (iOS & Android).
• Establish best practices for test planning, execution, automation, and reporting.
• Ensure quality gates are met before production releases.
Mobile Testing & Automation
• Drive automation strategy for mobile applications using Appium, Selenium, or similar frameworks.
• Ensure adequate test coverage, including functional, regression, integration, and UI/UX testing.
• Oversee both manual and automated testing efforts to deliver high-quality applications.
• Manage device compatibility and cross-platform testing.
Team Management
• Lead and mentor a team of Quality Engineering professionals across multiple locations.
• Drive resource planning, task allocation, and performance management.
• Collaborate with offshore and onshore teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
Stakeholder Collaboration
• Work closely with Product Owners, Developers, Business Analysts, and Program Managers.
• Provide regular status updates, risk assessments, and quality metrics to stakeholders.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Reviews, and Retrospectives.
Defect & Release Management
• Ensure effective defect tracking, triaging, and timely resolution.
• Drive Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement preventive measures.
• Support CI/CD pipeline integration for automated test execution.
• Ensure smooth release validation and production deployment support.
Required Skills & Qualifications
• 8–12+ years of experience in Quality Engineering / Software Testing.
• Strong experience in mobile application testing across iOS and Android platforms.
• Hands-on expertise with automation tools such as:
- Appium
- Selenium
- XCTest / Espresso (preferred)
• Experience with API testing tools such as Postman and Rest Assured.
• Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitLab.
• Familiarity with test management tools including JIRA, Zephyr, TestRail, or ALM.
Preferred Skills
• Experience in the Retail domain (preferred for Coles engagement).
• Exposure to performance testing tools such as JMeter or LoadRunner.
• Knowledge of cloud-based mobile testing platforms like BrowserStack and Sauce Labs.
• Understanding of mobile application security and usability testing.
